The Darkness

**THE DARKNESS**

People often say that darkness is something to be feared, something to escape. For me, darkness was the only thing that ever brought me to the light.

This journey stripped me of everything. My pride. My identity. My purpose. At times, it felt as though it had taken my very soul. I spent years fighting against it, running from it, blaming it for every scar I carried.

But it wasn't until I believed all was lost that something changed.

The same darkness that had taken everything from me began to show me the way forward. What I once saw as destruction became transformation. What felt like punishment became a cleansing. A baptism through fire.

The darkness didn't save me. It revealed me.

It forced me to confront every lie, every regret, every demon I had spent a lifetime trying to bury. And in that confrontation, I found something I thought was gone forever—myself.

Today, I no longer run from my demons.

I embrace them.

Not because I've defeated them, but because they are part of me. They remind me where I've been, what I've survived, and how far I've come. They are not my weakness; they are my balance.

Without darkness, I would never have understood light.

Without destruction, I would never have discovered what remains.
